TakeTale 0.9 beta. The TaskTale.org web site is set up as well. General information There are probably 20 to 40 programs running on your PC at the same time. Some have been started by you, but a large number not. You will be surprised if you look at a list of all running programs the first time. TaskTale informs and explains what programs are running on your Windows PC. Utilities like Microsoft WinTop or Task Manager can do this as well, but they don't tell you what a program is doing. For each program TaskTale shows comments to explain what it is doing. The comments are created by the community of TaskTale users and are received from the TaskTale web site. In addition to the comment a program is rated how useful it is. TaskTale shows all programs currently running or started by Windows during bootup. This includes programs in the startup folder and programs started via the registry. TaskTale can check at bootup the running programs against the programs from last bootup and inform and log any changes. TaskTale is a Windows application. The TaskTale user interface does exist for English and German. TaskTale is published under the GPL license. The source code is open source and available at Sourceforge.net.
